Roehampton is London’s campus university, located in the south-west of the city, just 30 minutes from the hustle and bustle of the city center. One of the safest in London, the campus is the only one in the city offering first rate facilities for sporting and leisure. Roehampton offers some of the best learning, teaching and working facilities, and a wide range of opportunities for students to get involved, through volunteering, playing sport, or joining one of our many student societies.

University of Roehampton’s open spaces in south-west London provide the best of both worlds. It is also located just a short walk from the beautiful Richmond Park, which boasts almost 2500 acres of woodlands, ponds, gardens and grasslands, as well as around 650 free-roaming deer. The Cycling Road Race during the 2012 Olympics started on The Mall in St James’s Park, close to Buckingham Palace, and then went through Green Park, Richmond Park and Bushy Park.

Campus Life

The student union is responsible for running over 60 sports and society clubs for students, including study abroad, to get involved with. This is a perfect opportunity to meet students outside of your classes and residence halls. Additionally, the International Office runs a Study Abroad Social Program, which gives you the opportunity to explore not only London but also famous sites throughout the UK at a discounted price.

Study abroad students are taught alongside British students enrolled on full degree courses across 4 colleges. Study abroad students can also take special London studies classes, which uses London as the classroom, giving you the opportunity to see, learn and explore the city in more depth than the average student. UK universities expect students to self-manage their time between lectures, tutorials and independent study hours. Additional support services are available for study abroad students to help you adjust to the UK higher education system and be successful in your study abroad.

Study abroad students are guaranteed housing with all our UK university partners. Typically, study abroad students are integrated and mixed with British, European and other international students. Because Roehampton is a campus university with easy access to everything you need either on or very near campus, most of your meals will be made with your flat mates, giving you an easy and natural way to make friends.
